The subject of a mid-year exam was to design a research centre focused on Mars (but located in a desert on Earth). The programme was pre-defined and consisted of a large algae farm, raceway ponds, visitors centre (with a big Mars model in the middle), offices and different storage spaces. The task was to place these on the selected site and design the buildings.
